After an acute injury, should I use ice or a heat pad?

Use a heating pad or hot pad before you stretch or if you have a muscle spasm. We recommend that after an acute injury you should use ice for 48 hours to help control pain and spasms while minimizing the total damage of the injury by lowering the metabolic needs of the healthy tissue surrounding the injury site.

Are physical therapy treatments covered by health insurance programs?

Most therapy treatments are covered by health insurance. We will assist you in determining the amount of your insurance coverage as well as the frequency of treatments. However, if you’ve been in an auto accident, your auto insurance will cover your treatment. If you are unclear, please reach out to our office and we’d be happy to answer any of your questions.

How long will my appointment last?

This can vary based on the exact needs of each patient. We will be able to determine this after your examination and exactly what therapy you will be receiving.

Is there anything I need to bring to my appointment?

Please remember to bring with you your doctor’s prescription (if you have one), your insurance card, a photo I.D., a change of comfortable clothing (or come dressed in comfy clothing), and completed paperwork. You can find all of the paperwork you’ll need for your first visit on our Initial Visit page. Please feel free to contact us before your appointment if you have any questions.

What will happen once therapy is completed?

Upon discharge, you may be given a home exercise program to further enhance your rehabilitation outcome and prevent the possibility of future re-injury.

Where are you located?

We are located throughout the Tampa – St. Petersburg area. To find a location, click here.

Who should I contact with billing questions?

Our front office staff will answer any question you have regarding billing. However, to speak directly to our billing team please call (813) 644-7232.
